A college friend, Sylvia, remembers Loida as the one in their group prone to lyrical flights, who "... distinguished herself with measured words and empathic gestures swinging 45 degrees forward." She was focused to distinguish herself in the legal profession, or perhaps even enter politics.
So, why did Sylvia titled her reminiscence, "The radical philanthropist"?
